Dangers of Extreme Dieting

Let's address the concerns some have with a plant-based diet. It is not to be confused with any version of an extreme dietary agenda that is not suitable for your health. Plant-based veganism is an evolutionary way of life. It takes time and dedication to commit to such a journey. If you are overly stressed or having financial difficulty with your preferred dietary lifestyle you can always pause and start again when you are better prepared. 

A raw living foods diet is different from a cooked plant-based vegan diet. Committing to a raw fruitarian lifestyle can be dangerous for some. Please make periodical check up appointments with your doctor and nutritionist regarding your health status and nutritional profile. Raw dieting is still very experimental. There is not a lot of conclusive scientific evidence available for you. There are people who report their personal experiences with a raw vegan diet and you must follow up with any medical resources to ensure that you are eating and receiving enough nutrition in your diet. Providing your body with more fresh fruits and vegetables everyday is the optimal goal. There are many elements that are involved in a raw living foods lifestyle and it is important to note that financial availability is most important to maintain nutrition standards and to not starve yourself half the week just because you have spent all of your money on raw fruit groceries only. A raw fruitarian diet can cost you <4x's more than your basic plant food diet. 

Over time humans have adapted to consuming nuts, grains, seeds, beans and legumes to maintain a nutritonal diet filled with variety. Your mind and body is adjusted to this nutritonal variety and must be made available in a raw living foods diet as well. Grains, beans, and legumes are normally not included in a raw living foods diet and these are a few of the main staples in substituting for meat eating due to the high nutritonal profile, global convenience, and economical pricing of these items. This makes general plant-based veganism relatively easier and more affordable which includes both raw living foods and cooked plant food options. So you can still enjoy (meat-less) pasta dishes, steamed veggies and rice, lentil soup or three bean- soup, rice cakes, bread &, more. Simply balance out your fruit eating for most of the day and be sure to add more nutrients to your fruit drinks or smoothies for insured nutritional meal planning. 

My suggestion is to include plant-based veganism as the first substitute for meat eating. If you eat only fruit your body will initially adjust but you will not have many calories available for the body as needed long term. The body operates in a caloric surplus mode from week to week to maintain it's energy for operating sufficiently and breaking down nutrients plus performing physical tasks from day to day. It is not recommended that you consume less than 1000 calories per day for long periods of time. On average you need 1500 - 2500 calories daily to function. This is not about protein which is naturally included in a dietary caloric count. Calories as a whole is what dictate the amount of energy you have available to burn and then you simply replenish the body with more calories. Water does not provide calories to your body but can help flush your system from toxins. So if you are water fasting you must not do that for a prolonged period of time or at all because it is dangerous without nutritonal meal planning. Juice feasting is a popular feature on a plant-based diet. Please ensure that you are drinking enough calories for the day. Eating less calories per day for healing or weight loss is at your own risk. Do not continue for long periods of time without medical advice because juice feasting is a liquid diet that may or may not be beneficial for your particular health condition. Extreme dieting can take a toll on your mental well-being so please work with a medical health professional for check-ups guidance and advisement.
